Celebrating 50 Years: 1958-2008

The Tonga Hut Tiki Lounge in North Hollywood is an original Tiki lounge established in 1958. Much of the original decor remains...kidney shaped drop ceiling, fountains and giant Tiki gods (moai).  

The Tonga Hut’s décor and ambiance had fallen prey to bad taste over the years, however it is under new ownership and major improvements have been made. Purchased by new 30-something owners in November 2005, this icon of a beloved era gone by is being returned to its former 50's and 60's glory… with a modern twist. 

Old beer neons have been replaced by floral prints and a beautiful tapa cloth (traditional painted cloth made from tree bark).  The lighting is soft and red candles throughout the bar create a cozy feel. The jukebox has been infused with everything from Exotica, Rockabilly, Vintage Jazz and Lounge along with 80’s Rock, Alternative, Classic Rock and R&B with just a touch of HipHop making it one of the best jukeboxes in the Valley.
